Faith by Pastor Emmanuel Eyim-Danquah

Pastor Danquah has been ministering at Living Word Chapel for 11 years now.  In his Facebook page he mentioned relationship is a foundation of purpose.  But relationship is also with the Lord first.  God will connect good people with you, don’t destroy the relationships God gives you.  Sometimes relationship takes sacrifice.

Yesterday Pastor Danquah spoke about the miracle at the other end of the trial, and how in the midst of that we need to remember God’s presence, God’s promises, and God’s power.

When we take steps in faith and begin to seek our victory and the end of the trial, satan rears his head, and we do not want to succumb to satan’s presence – for us FAITH is the key.

The Spirit of Faith can bring healing to our bodies and it can bring us to the next level. The Holy Spirit helps us with faith.

1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

God always knows the end from the beginning. God knew that we would be going through this particular trial or difficulty BEFORE the foundations of the world were made. God knew that something would necessitate that we would have to walk by faith.  We need faith to deal with the world and it’s system and anything that rises up against us.

Before the problem began you were already an OVERCOMER. God pronounced you an overcomer, even before we knew Him.  It doesn’t matter what you are going through – for you are an overcomer.  Begin walking with the attitude of an overcomer.

An overcomer doesn’t look down, an overcomer walks with their head held high like a King’s son or daughter.  We do not want the devil to intimidate us.

1 John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

As the song goes:  “On Christ the solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.”

God’s Word never fails.  Joshua 21:45 Not a word failed of any good thing which the LORD had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass

God wants us to overcome and He wants to turn something around in our life.

Matthew 21:22 KJV And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive

Pastor Danquah told us that in this passage it says WHATSOEVER – not WHOSOEVER, so this passage covers not only persons but dreams, desires, and anything that we ask.

Don’t throw in the towel when things get difficult.  We are believers and as believers we are overcomers.  Faith gives us the victory to overcome the world.  Faith overcomes when the storms of life are raging around us.  Faith will help us to overcome every difficulty that rises against us.  Don’t throw away your faith and confidence in God.  Even when we come to the end of our rope, when life seems against you and people are laughing at you – keep going forward and say, “I want to serve God.”

Before a woman brings forth a child there is great pain, and that pain gets stronger at the end of the pregnancy.  When we face trials that seem so huge, it is that we are closer to our victory, close to overcoming.

1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

FAITH helps us overcome the world.  FAITH will get us through any storm.  When the odds seem against you and difficulties rise, hold onto your faith and confidence in God.

There is victory for you in the areas of health, marriage, finances, relationships, ministry, etc.

Things we need to know about FAITH.

1. FAITH IS A WEAPON.  Faith helps us to quench the fiery darts of the devil. The devil seeks to intimidate us, but we can remain calm and sleep in the midst of the storm.  If we are without faith we can get fidgety. HAVE FAITH IN GOD, and we can do great exploits for God.  Jesus slept in the middle of the storm.  We can trust God, He is the Lord of our situation.  Jesus walked calmly on the water.  FAITH is a weapon that rises up against anything that is of the world, the world systems, the enemy.  Faith overcomes our bad economic situation.  We walk with boldness, not drawing back. Know that the Lord will supply.

Pastors need faith for daily living and faith for the church so that the church can do what God wants.  God wants you to achieve your purpose.

Pastor Danquah told us that he needed a new van for his church – for the youth.  Yet they had no money for a van.  They prayed and God provided a van from a website, and recently they drove the van home.  Now 50 youth come to the church in that van on weekdays to pray for 1 1/2 hours in the Spirit.  Soon 31 of them will be going to I. V. Hillard’s youth conference.

Believe God that He will provide.

Ephesians 6:16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

Notice that we overcome the wicked, we do not have to be afraid.  We take the SHIELD of FAITH – and that quenches the darts.  It says TAKING – take command, take the shield of faith.  We must gird ourselves with the shield of faith, put it on.  It does no good unless we put it on.

How do we get faith?  Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

As we speak the Word of God our faith is built.  As we hear pastors teach the Word of God our faith is built.  Faith is a spirit, and Pastor Danquah told us that he is imparting faith into our being with his teaching.

Faith takes our fear out of life.  The church has a spirit of fear, and faith gives us boldness so that the devil can’t take what belongs to you.  The devil is a loser, he lost the battle with the Spirit of Faith.  To quench the darts of the devil you must read God’s word to yourself out loud – let your ears hear what God has to say.  Remember faith comes by hearing.

There are attacks on you every day, fiery darts to torment you.  But we have faith as our shield and those darts are sent back to the devil.  We must not be moved by the devil’s deceptions.

Ephesians 3:20  Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can think or ask.

When the Master (Jesus) is in the boat with you, you do not need to fear.

Pastor Danquah suggested we purchase the CD of this lesson and listen to the message over and over again. (You can go to Living Word Chapelsite and purchase the CD if you wish.)

Our faith helps us reverse obstacles that are sent against us to distract us, hurt our family, our finances.  God has given you the Victory.  Don’t get pulled away by satan’s negative ideas, the devil lost.

Pastor Danquah shared about two evangelists who were on their mission trips. One had taken a room in a hotel and woke up hearing a noise only to discover that the devil was on the couch.  He told the devil, oh, it’s only you, and went back to sleep.  The other one saw the devil in a different situation and also went to sleep.

If you know who you are and the God you are serving, you do not have to be fearful of satan.  1 John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Don’t let sickness destroy the plans of God.  Don’t let death destroy the plans of God.  Don’t let finances destroy the plans of God.

Before the devil can give you a trial he needs permission from God.  God knows what you need to mature in Him, and God also has already provided you the victory over the situation.

1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Battles are not easy.  Pastor Danquah shared how he was planning to move to a different house but the banks were putting an obstacle in front of him.  His sons had packed their stuff and were sleeping on the floor like strangers in the house.  Pastor Danquah suggested they unpack until the situation is finished, and they told him that you preach on faith, do you believe?  Pastor Danquah believed.  God managed to arrange circumstances so the move went smoothly.

When we face circumstances in the physical, we can also know that there are spirits fighting behind the scenes.  We do warfare in the Spirit.  2 Corinthians 10:4-6 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

We want to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.  God will not permit anything to overcome God’s children.  We need to confess God’s Word.  Often people think all they have to do is confess the Word for one day, or one month but that may not make the situation change.  Zeal for the Lord has to consume us and we need to keep speaking and confessing His word.  We cannot get lax in this. We can get tired of the struggles of life.  But it is a fight and we have to rise up and fight.

1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

We can keep fighting our fight because God, our supreme being is behind us helping us.

God is with me in the fire, in the water, in rivers.  We might not see Him, but He is with us.  Our fight will be victorious.  The fight is fixed, and the game is up.  We have won.  It is a fake giant.

The way we win the fight is through Jesus. The devil goes around pretending to be a lion, but it is pretend – all roar and nothing else.  Jesus is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah.

David knew God, so Goliath did not faze David.  He was motivated by a holy jealousy, not wanting Goliath to defy God.  David did not look at the bigness of Goliath, but rather he focused on the bigness of God.  Don’t magnify your problems.

People will try to discourage you, give you wrong counseling – things like leave your husband, you won’t get that job, you aren’t qualified, you can’t get out of this financial mess, etc.  But don’t listen to those lies of satan.  Stay in God’s Word.  God’s Word is powerful and is not affected by circumstances.

David took courage and the giant fell.  In the realms of the Spirit, your giant is the world system, and it is tumbling down in the NAME OF JESUS!  Your giant has fallen down.  Stand and declare that the heavens will establish what we say, changing our destiny by Divine Power and mandate.

Galatians 3:13-14 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),  that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Every blessing comes through Jesus.  Every blessing of Abraham is ours through Jesus.  Through Jesus we receive the promises of God.  Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Without faith we are displeasing God.  Faith brings promises to pass.  Keep up your faith.  Mix faith with what you have been promised and it will come to pass.  Mix faith with Biblical precepts.  Biblical precepts need faith to manifest.  Every prophecy that you have received needs faith mixed with it to bring it to pass.  It will not manifest accidentally. Feeling is not a fact, do not depend on  your feelings.  Faith is the truth and a fact.

Romans 4:19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

For reproduction, Abraham and Sarah’s bodies were dead, there was no physical way for them to produce another offspring after Ishmael.  Yet they stayed strong in their faith and gained the glory of God.

Your situation may be physically hard, and you may feel you are too tired to fight anymore, but that is not the truth.  The truth is that God is going to give you a miracle today.  Mix Faith with hearing and see the changes in your life.

Let’s come out of the laboratory into the crucible of life and actually PRACTICE FAITH.  We can’t learn to ride a bike in the classroom with a teacher telling us how to do it.  We need to take a bike, go out on the sidewalk, sit on it and begin to pedal.  When we fall and scrape our knees we get up and get back on the bike and try again until we get it right.

When we are learning to walk by faith we will not get it perfectly every time, we just get back up and take another step in faith, and if we fall, we pick ourselves up again.

Proverbs 24:16 For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, but the wicked shall fall by calamity.

Trust God, do not lean on your own “powers.”  Step out by Faith.  God will never disappoint you. He steps up to you and you rise by faith.  Tell God you trust Him.  God will bring healing to all kinds of difficulties.

God wants to do some shaking and sifting. The anointing of the Lord will make a difference. Open up your Spirit to take the anointing.  See what the Lord does.  You will have a testimony by 21 days that the Lord, He is God!

The Spirit of God will defend me and fight the battle for me.

Romans 4:17 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;

God can quicken the dead

God can quicken anything – the dead, finances, family, wayward children, health, your calling. As Romans 4:17 tells us, god calls those things which be not as though they did.  Mark 11:22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.

Love God, have faith in God and you can call those things in your life that be not as though they are.  When you begin to speak the truth of God, not the circumstances in your life people will wonder if you are normal.  When you speak the Word of God in your circumstance people will think you are out of your mind.

When the disciples were in the boat, they saw Jesus walking on the water.  At first they thought it was a ghost.  Peter was in the boat and told Jesus :  Matthew 14:28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”  Pastor Danquah told us that he imagined the disciples in the boat were saying, “Peter you are not the Lord.  You will sink.  What are you thinking getting out of this boat?”  etc.

People will try and talk you out of your faith – but believe God.  Step out in FAITH.  Do not pay attention to people’s talking you out of your faith.

But there are a few things to remember.

1. You have to have heard from the Lord.
2. Be in the Spirit
3. When the Holy Spirit places a light in you, even a small light, step out in faith.
4.  See what the Lord can do.

Peter stepped out and walked on the water.  The water is the world and the things of the world, the world system that we are up against.  Faith and the vitality of God will help you to overcome a problem, a difficulty, and the enemy will not be victorious over you for you walk by faith and not by sight.  2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.  We do not do this by ourselves, God leads us and then we have a testimony of what God has done.

Faith confession

A faith confession is a statement I make in agreement with the will of God regardless of my circumstances.  We have a choice to look at our circumstances or speak the truth of God.

Genesis 17:1-5 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.” Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying: “As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.

God changed Abram’s name to Abraham.  Abram was a name used by idol worshippers.  Abraham means “Father of many Nations.”  God was speaking into Abraham’s life what did not exist in the physical. And God gave Abraham his new name so that He would speak forth the truth of God.  To speak those things which do not exist as though they did.

At this point, even though Abraham did not have many children, God had ALREADY made Abraham the Father of Many Nations before the world was even created, before Abraham was born.  He had already completed the miracle even though it hadn’t manifested yet.

When Abraham would introduce himself and people ask him how many kids he had – they would look at him and say, “Are you normal?”

But we want to be thinking what God is saying about us. Begin to act as if it has already happened.

Genesis 17:15-16 Then God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name. And I will bless her and also give you a son by her; then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be from her.”

Sarai’s name was changed to Sarah, for she was to be a mother of nations.

Speak what God intends to bring to pass.  Speak in agreement with the Will of God.  Stop confessing your situation.   A good confession is speaking God’s Word.  Angels will hear it and see that it comes to pass.

If you speak a negative confession, demons come and use that against the believer.

God wants you to change your confession.

Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Don’t complain when we get caught in situations.  Complaining will prolong the situation.  Speak God’s blessings.  God wants to bless us beyond measure.  Speak the Will of God and see it come about in your life.  God’s Word will prevail.

Faith will always conquer your sickness, difficulty, circumstance, situation.  The devil is a defeated foe, Jesus has won.

John 1:22-23 Then they said to him, “Who are you, that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say about yourself?” He said: “I am‘The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Make straight the way of the LORD,”’ as the prophet Isaiah said.”

John the Baptist declared what the Word of the Lord said about himself.  He said the same thing that God spoke.

Don’t magnify your problems to your friends, declare God has canceled your poverty by the power of prosperity.  That we are rich.  That our circumstance is not the truth.

In Ghana where Pastor Danquah administers churches they needed finances to put a roof on a church. In Ghana the interest rate is 80% on $10,000.  Their church in Florida is trying to raise funds for this and in the mean time there is no roof on the church in Ghana.  Pastor Danquah told us that he wants those under his ministry to be able to speak wealth into their lives so that more can be done for the Lord, and that poverty or lack of finances does not stop God’s work.

Most of us are not open to Godly ideas about finances.  We are caught up in what we receive on our salary, thinking that our prosperity only comes from our paycheck. God wants better for you, open your Spirit for him.  Ask God to open your eyes to opportunity.

When Abraham went up the mountain to sacrifice Isaac, God made provision of a ram for a substitute sacrifice.  That ram was there from the beginning, but Abraham did not see it, he was focused on Isaac, but then God opened his eyes to see the ram in the thicket.

Your paycheck is a token from God to open you up.  Open your eyes for new opportunities in your business.

The Lord has a blessing for you – speak it out.  Jesus spoke out God’s blessing over his life.

Luke 4:17-19 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”

Jesus spoke God’s Word over Himself and manifested this.

Let’s speak the Word of God over our situations and see what God will do.  If you are sick, be healed.  God is into removing yokes, and He will remove any yoke the devil has placed on you.  Speak the truth of God.

We then stood and Pastor Danquah led us in speaking Bible promises over ourselves.

Praying this teaching abundantly blesses you.

About Heather Marsten

Welcome to Heather's Blog. I'm looking forward to meeting you and checking out your sites. I just moved about nine years of material over from another blog site, Xanga, who may close down mid-July. At first I was disappointed to make the move because I had a lifetime membership at Xanga and had to spend weeks transferring posts. But now I'm thrilled. Already I've met new bloggers and read many new websites. Blogging is a wonderful way to expand my horizons and garner new ideas. I'm a happily married mom of three young adults. My husband and I are proud to watch our children grow and venture out into the world. My daughter is still in college but my two sons have graduated. One has a job and the other just graduated and is in the process of finding a job in his field, physics. Anyone know of any jobs out there? I'm proud of our children and love watching them grow and mature. They've become fine, compassionate, and loving people. Empty nest? Nah, I'm too busy to let an empty nest bother me. Not enough hours in the day. My husband and I enjoy quiet time together and I have many interests to pursue - one of which is blogging :D I am a born-again believer and love God. As you read this blog, you will discover that Bible studies thrill me. There is so much wisdom contained between the covers of the Bible and I am fortunate to sit under the teachings of a remarkable pastor, Pastor Don Moore. Members of our church (Living Word Chapel in West Hurley, New York) are encouraged to teach and there are visiting pastors who stop by our church, I also study the Bible on my own and love sharing what I learn. One other passion is writing. My current work in process is a memoir. A scene from my memoir was published in a book called: Heavenly Company: Entertaining Angels Unaware - an anthology of angelic encounters compiled by Cecil Murphy. I'm hoping my memoir will encourage other survivors of abuse. I grew up in a home filled with abuse, including incest. For most of my life I was searching for something that would fill the void of not being loved by my parents. I tried many ways to find that love -- therapy, relationships, occult studies, and keeping my life so filled I had no way to think about my past. It was only when I discovered God that I was able to put the pieces of my life back together and walk forward in a joyous life. My nickname - wondering has changed from wondering where the heck God was in my life, to wondering what incredible adventure is going to happen next. I hope you enjoy my site. Please say hi, share some thoughts, and ask questions. I look forward to meeting you and checking out your sites. Have a blessed day. Heather
